25,000 BHP

03Apr07

James May said of the Bugatti Veyron:
Getting the car to do 155mph, frankly, isn’t really very difficult. The Veyron needs just a piffling 270 horsepower to do that speed. But 253 (mph)? Crikey!
…The faster you go, the more mother nature tries to hold you back, so to do the next 100 mph, the 100 […]

Apple & EMI Sign a DRM-Free Deal

02Apr07

I think is fair to say everyone has heard about, if not read the essay ‘Thoughts on Music’ written by Steve Jobs and posted on the Apple website not long ago. At the time, Jobs’ essay made sense, and I hold the belief that DRM use drives piracy rather than the opposite, but didn’t believe […]

Hotmail and my SPF Nightmare

29Mar07

Do you know what a SPF record is?
No?
Neither did I until Microsoft decided to class me as a spammer, and if you read on you might just save yourself from loosing several days of your life trying to implement one.

Time Machine Does Products Too

14Sep06

It would seem that Apple have managed to transcend the gap between reality and the digital domain with their upcoming Leopard app Time Machine. Not only can Time Machine recover lost files, but it can recover the visual style of past iPods to new products. Interesting.

Today marks the 60th Anniversary of the first test of the Ejector seat by pilot Bernard “Benny” Lynch for the Martin-Baker company.
Since that first test over 7,150 lives have been saved by Martin-Baker ejection seats.
ejection-history.org.uk Is an illustrated history of assisted aircrew escape systems and a chronicle of all known ejections worldwide. Interesting stuff.

OpenDNS

22Jul06

I have just stumbled up on one of the greatest things I have seen for a while on the internet. I first heard of OpenDNS on Whalesalad.com and having read Michael’s incredibly optimistic review I didn’t hesitated to change my DNS settings and was surprised by just how much of a difference using the OpenDNS […]

Trailers, round two.

02Jun06

Still on the www.apple.com/trailers theme I have come across another documentary that appears to be quite interesting. Who Killed The Electric Car? examines the battle that the electric car has had with the oil and car giants, whose interest in making money is the primary reason that electric vehicles haven’t become more mainstream. The documentary […]

Is Adobe ripping off UK customers?

Judging by those figures, that’s one way of putting it. What a joke.

Never mind my earlier post; if you want to get rich, don’t live in Britain!
