Just been doing my usual browsing of the movie trailers at apple.com and came across the interestingly titled “Sketches of Frank Gehry”. It’s worth heading over and checking the trailer out for yourself, fingers crossed one of the smaller cinemas near me will show it. I have allways been interested in Gehry’s rather unconventional buildings. One of his masterpieces resides here in Dundee; the Maggies Cancer Center at Ninewells Hospital. I went up to have a good look when it was finished, and it is a very interesting building. I have no idea how Gehry manages to make the amzing forms he conjours up a reality, but it looks like the film should give us an insight into his process. I Would hated to have been a structural engineer working on the Guggenheim Bilbao!
