Design Is Everything

I say I am just starting out as a designer, but design is a funny thing. It could be saidthat everybody is a designer in everyday life, but as we share no common vocabulary for describing everyday design activity, we are, for the most case, unaware of this. To me design is a state of mind, and the only difference between an artist or designer and any other person is the way in which the former looks at the world. Just walking down the street is a voyage of discovery, intreague and inspiration for me. I notice things in all aspects of life that others don’t. I notice the subtle nuances of nature, or the little touches that an architect, graphic designer, painter, director or product designer has laboured hours over to produce. The primary tool of any designer is sight, the ability to observe and learn. Creativity is core to humanity, it is a fundamental element of our species’ adaptation, our growth and development, and I am learning how to harness it.
